ARC The.Hotel is a centrally located property praised for its highly accommodating staff and comfortable, clean rooms, making it a convenient base for exploring downtown Ottawa. However, the experience is frequently marred by an antiquated and poorly lit room design, inconsistent housekeeping, and several specific maintenance issues like water pressure fluctuations and noise transfer through connecting doors.
The concierges were exceptionally helpful and polite. I ordered DoorDash and they insisted on providing me cloth napkins, silverware and glassware from the restaurant. They allowed me a late checkout to take a Zoom meeting in my room, and checking in and out were super easy. The rooms have clearly been renovated in a bit of a lipstick job but they’re big and clean and the bed was comfy. What a great central location!!!
My spouse and I had a fantastic stay at the Arc Hotel. We had a weekend planned in Ottawa and sadly our flight in was cancelled due to a winter storm. The hotel was so gracious and accommodating. The staff were exceptionally helpful and modified our reservation. They went above and beyond to ensure that, when we did arrive, everything was in order. Among the most friendly and helpful staff I have worked with. The room was clean and very comfortable! The only suggestion is the lighting in the room - the LED lights were likely around 6000K giving off a more coolish colour rather than 3000K to 4000K which would give a warmer more cozy vibe. This is so minor. EVERYTHING else was fantastic. I will stay there again!
Great location. Easy walking distance to Parliament Hill and not too far from the Byward Market area. The room (Premier King) was quite small but adequate and quiet. We found the bed and pillows were comfortable. The closet needs a light. We had to use flashlights to look through clothes and shoes, and the safe was useless without a flashlight. The bathroom is very small and has one light hanging over the sink. The position of the hanging light is awkward for use of the mirror, eg makeup. Better lighting, including the shower would be appreciated. Our package included breakfast, which we really enjoyed. The eggs Benedict was excellent. All staff were friendly and professional. Parking requires going down a very narrow side alley. We were able to find a parking spot each night but had to park in a huge puddle one evening, ~2cm deep. There is low hanging ductwork so you have to watch out to avoid hitting your head. You also have to walk back along the narrow alley to get from the parking garage to the hotel. I was always concerned about encountering a car coming in along that alley but we were lucky.
I stayed here for 4 days while in Ottawa for business. The staff were all very nice. front desk, concierge and room attendants were always friendly, happy and smiling. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. One concern I had was that Hot Water for the shower seemed somewhat sporadic and was not always available, but that did not ruin the stay. I would recommend staying here, lots of restaurants and sight seeing within walking distance.
Great Stay Ruined by Dishonest Parking Fees – Watch Your Receipt! While the location and service at this hotel were great, I feel obligated to warn future guests about their predatory parking charges. We were told at check-in that parking was $30/day. For a 3-night stay, we expected roughly $90 plus tax. Instead, we were blindsided by a final bill of $152.52 for parking alone—that’s over $50 a night. This "hidden" surcharge was never mentioned upfront. As for the room, it was decent and the bed was comfortable. However, the lack of financial transparency at checkout completely overshadowed the positives. I’ve rated so others aren't caught off guard. Check your bill before you leave! It is incredibly disappointing when a hotel hides fees until the very last second.
The hotel is located in the convenient location. Overall the stay was pleasant except the washroom. The water pressure was terrible and it was hard to take a shower. Definitely needs some renovation and remodelling. The staff is friendly and the overall experience is nice.
Wonderful stay, nice rooms. I would echo what another guest said inthat the lighting was a little too bright, but otherwise the rooms were clean, comfortable and relaxing. Staff were excellent and super inviting. Prime location to many downtown hotspots. I'll be coming back!
Location, price and service were great. The room was decent, however the bright white light bulbs made the room feel like a grocery store and did not provide a relaxing atmosphere. The king sized bed was a little too firm and better quality pillows would have been appreciated. The bedding was nice. We have previously stayed at the Alt Hotel down the street and would spend the extra money next time for the better experience. However, this is a great lower budget option.
???????? 4/5 Great location for exploring downtown Ottawa! ARC The Hotel is in an unbeatable location—just a short walk to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Centre Mall, restaurants, coffee shops, and major attractions. If you’re visiting Ottawa and want to be close to everything, this hotel is incredibly convenient. Room & Comfort: The room itself was clean and comfortable, but felt a bit outdated in terms of décor and style. However, everything worked well and it got the job done for a city stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, which made for good rest after a long day of exploring. Housekeeping: The only downside was that fresh towels and toiletries were not replaced daily, which would have been appreciated. Consistent housekeeping would definitely improve the guest experience. Convenience & Services: One of the best features was the luggage storage after checkout—very helpful if you want to keep exploring the city before heading out. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in/check-out was smooth. Extras to Note: • Easy access to public transit • Safe and walkable area • Stylish boutique atmosphere in the lobby • Good value for the location • Quiet property despite being downtown Overall: ARC The Hotel is a great choice for travelers who want convenience, walkability, and value in the heart of Ottawa. With a few small updates and more consistent housekeeping, it could easily be a top-tier boutique stay. I’d stay here again for the location alone!
Location and service was great. Room was cozy, only wish it had a microwave but was comfortable. Breakfast was great, dinner was ok.. I would stay again.
